The PHIUS+ Certification program combines a thorough passive house design verification protocol with a stringent Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) program performed on site by highly skilled and specialized PHIUS+ Raters. The benefits of PHIUS+ certification include:

1. •Comprehensive design and energy model review
   Passive house buildings in North American climates present unique design challenges; small mis-steps can lead to big problems. PHIUS+ certifiers are the most experienced passive house professionals in North America. They thoroughly review projects at the design stage, identify problems, and work with project designers to make projects work.
   

2. •Rigorous quality assurance
   Project testing and inspections are conducted by experienced HERS Raters, trained by PHIUS to work on PHIUS+ projects. The on-site inspections and testing help to assure PHIUS and the project teams that the buildings will perform as designed.     
   

3. •RESNET HERS Index Score
   Most projects will automatically receive a RESNET HERS Index score as part of certification. The RESNET HERS Index is the leading industry standard by which a home’s energy efficiency is measured. Many local, state, and federal financial incentive programs require a HERS Index to demonstrate compliance.
   

4. •One-Stop Certification Shopping Now Encompasses U.S. DOE Challenge Home
   PHIUS works with energy leaders like the Department of Energy’s Challenge Home program, Energy Star, and others. That means when you get PHIUS+ Certification you also get recognition from other programs.
   

5. •Listing on the PHIUS+ Certified Projects Database
   PHIUS+ certified projects are included with pertinent project information and photos on the PHIUS+ Certified Projects Database.

Discounted fees are available PHIUS CPHCs and PHAUS members. (Visit www.phaus.org to learn more about PHAUS membership.)

For PHIUS CPHCs who are also PHAUS members:

0 - 2500 sq. ft. treated floor area            $1,012.50

2,500 - 4,500 sq. ft. treated floor area    $1,387.50

For those who are a PHIUS CPHC or CPHC-in-training (but not a PHAUS member):

0 - 2500 sq. ft. treated floor area            $1,282.50

2,500 - 4,500 sq. ft. treated floor area    $1,757.50

Standard Fees

0 - 2500 sq. ft. treated floor area            $1,350.00

2,500 - 4,500 sq. ft. treated floor area    $1,850.00

Note: These fees do not include PHIUS+ Rater fees. Project teams must contract separately with a PHIUS+ Rater.
